A specific time period when you will be more likely to encounter certain Gigantamax Pokémon in the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield video games was revealed.
In Max Raid Battles, four Trainers can team up to take on a wild Dynamax Pokémon. In extremely rare cases, a Gigantamax Pokémon can appear instead of a Dynamax Pokémon. Only certain species of Pokémon have Gigantamax forms and even among such species, only very rare specimens will be able to.
From Friday, November 15, 2019, until early January 2020, players will be more likely to encounter Gigantamax Butterfree in Max Raid Battles.
Besides the useful information on encountering Gigantamax Pokémon, new items and features have also been revealed.
To start, every Pokémon has a nature which impacts the speed at which their stats can be raised. In case you want to change that pattern, you can use Mints, they will help in growing stats, but they will not change the nature of the Pokémon.
Moving on with the stats of a Pokémon, you will also be able to use Exp. Candy to help them earn XP outside of battles. If you’re in need of some Exp. Candy, you will have to earn them in Max Raid Battles.
Finally, a Pokémon that is hatched from an egg, might come out with Egg Moves. Egg Moves are moves that a Pokémon can’t normally learn. To be able to learn a move in such a way, a Pokémon must know three or fewer moves.
On the more technical side of gameplay, now you will be able to access your Pokémon Box at almost any point in the game and change up your team. The only times when you will not be able to do so is in mission areas and Gyms.
Autosave is also being added, but in case you don’t want it, you can disable it from the Options menu. Obviously, the ability to save manually isn’t going anywhere.
And the last bit of info is that if you receive a Pokémon in a trade that doesn’t have a nickname, you will be able to give it one by talking to the man behind the left-hand counter in any Pokémon Center.
