Ubisoft Announced Prince of Persia Game for VR

After a decade without a new Prince of Persia game, Ubisoft announced the next game in the franchise. Unfortunately, it’s a VR escape room game.

The Prince of Persia franchise is being revived by Ubisoft, but not in the way fans would want. The new Prince of Persia game will be a VR escape room, it’s played in groups in venues specially equipped for the games.

Ubisoft already released two such games, both from the Assassin’s Creed series. Prince of Persia The Dagger of Time will have teams trying to reach the Hourglass Chamber in the Fortress of Time. During the trip you’ll also get to meet an army of sand monsters trying to stop you.

The Dagger of Time is being developed by Ubisoft Düsseldorf, the same studio that developed the previously mentioned Assassin’s Creed VR games. It’s expected to arrive to 300 locations this spring.

The game itself is played in teams of two to four players working togethering to complete puzzles. There will also be some climbing and jumping involved, and of course that ability to manipulate time.
