Announced at E3 2017, the Super Duper Graphics Pack was supposed to introduce new lighting, shaders and effects to Minecraft, but it has officially been canceled.
In an official announcement, Mojang broke the news that the Super Duper Graphics Pack has been canceled.
They didn’t go into too much detail besides that it was “too technically demanding”. The pack simply didn’t perform well enough across the range of devices it was planned for. If you ever saw a modpack for Minecraft that does exactly what Mojang was trying to do, it becomes very obvious why their pack didn’t perform well enough.
If you were excited for it, there’s still a very large number of mods that make Minecraft look absolutely amazing. Just keep in mind that you’ll need a best of a PC to actually run it at more than single digit FPS.
