Last year, Naughty Dog said that Factions multiplayer mode would be coming back in The Last of Us Part II, an upcoming sequel to the more than well-received and critically acclaimed game. However, the plan has changed.
In an interview for USgamer, Naughty Dog lead game designer Emilia Schatz said: "We're focusing on a single-player experience, so we're just making a single-player game for this".
Yesterday, Naughty Dog confirmed this on their Twitter saying that the single-player campaign was the most ambitious project they had ever undertaken and that they made the difficult choice of not including an online mode into the game. Still, even though the game won’t have a multiplayer mode on launch, Naughty Dog’s team is working on an online experience separate from The Last of Us Part II which you’ll get to enjoy at some point. What it is, is yet to be seen.
The Last of Us Part II is one of the most anticipated games, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
