The Last Of Us II Launch Date Moved to Spring 2020

Just a month ago, the release date for The Last of Us Part II was set to February 21. However, things changed, and the launch has got delayed. A new date has been revealed.

On the official website, Neil Druckman has confirmed the delay and that the Last of Us Part II will be released on May 29, 2020.

He explained that they are really thrilled with the positive response they are getting from the community but that during the last few weeks, they realized they just didn’t have enough time to finish the game the best way they could.

However, it was during the last few weeks, as we were closing out sections of the game, that we realized we simply didn’t have enough time to bring the entire game up to a level of polish we would call Naughty Dog quality. At this point we were faced with two options: compromise parts of the game or get more time. We went with the latter, and this new release date allows us to finish everything to our level of satisfaction while also reducing stress on the team,” Druckmann wrote in the statement.

He is aware that the fans are disappointed because they will have to wait a few extra months, and he expressed the team's gratitude for their patience.

Hopefully, it will be worth the wait.
