Versus Evil’s indie titles debut on Apple Arcade with a hilarious narrative driven action RPG, Yaga.
Yaga tells the story of Ivan, a one-handed blacksmith with incredibly bad luck, who must take on the impossible tasks given to him by the tzar. All the while the mysterious witch, Baba Yaga, watches over Ivan’s fate as he Smashes and clobbers a variety of nefarious monsters and legends inspired by Slavic folk tales.
“Yaga is a game that packages fun combat, a deep forging system, and roguelike gameplay principles, and wraps them all up in a twisted and yet humorous narrative. Yaga’s appearance on Apple Arcade is another example of Versus Evil’s commitment to diversifying and broadening the reach of the independent game developers we work with,” said Versus Evil General Manager, Steve Escalante
The world of Yaga is steeped in Slavic folklore and ancient Pagan beliefs. Featuring a head-bobbing Romanian hip-hop soundtrack from Subcarpați and striking, hand-drawn 2D artwork. Yaga is an authentic love letter to childhood fables from Romanian indie developer, Breadcrumbs Interactive.
In celebration of Yaga’s release on Apple Arcade, Versus Evil has released the next enemy introduction video for the Bukavac.
In Slavic legend, the Bukavac is a six-legged horned demon that lives in bodies of water. They emerge at night to make loud noises. They'll jump on animals and villagers, crushing and strangling them. They're evil, strong, and violent. Though if one were to offer help to Ivan, he might want to take them up on the offer…
If you prefer playing on a PC, you can pre-order Yaga on the Epic Games store and save 20% on the main game or Bad Luck Bundle.
