Tesla cars already run some classic Atari games on their dashboard screens and as revealed by Elon Musk, Cuphead will find its way into the electric cars too.
During episode 200 of Ride the Lightning, a weekly podcast for Tesla fans, Elon Musk praised the game's design and commented on its difficulty while mentioning that they are working with the developers to bring it to Tesla’s cars.
"[The developers] have been helping us make it work," Elon Musk said, "It's a cool game. It's insanely difficult, by design. It's sadistically difficult.”
Talking to IGN, Moldenhauer said, "Finding out that Mr. Musk was a fan of our game was extremely humbling and getting a chance to work with such an innovative company has been really exciting. We hope Cuphead can add some classic fun to such forward-thinking vehicles.”
The only requirement on MDHR’s side was that the game must run smoothly because if it doesn't, it would simply be unplayable. In line with that, it won’t support the dashboard’s touch screen and will only be playable with a USB gamepad.
Due to size limitations, only the first world of the game will be playable. Like the Atari games already available, it will only be playable while the car is in park.
