Gylt, Tequila Works’ new game, was announced by Google as a Stadia exclusive, it says so right in the announcement, but it might not actually be an exclusive.
It’s a very sticky situation for Tequila Works, for someone to play Gylt on November 30, they would have to pay up $129.99 for the Founder’s Edition bundle of Stadia. That’s a pretty high asking price for a game, so unless you were already planning on getting Stadia, the offer isn’t too tempting.
EuroGamer talked to Raúl Rubio Munárriz, co-founder and creative director of Tequila Works, about the game’s exclusivity and he couldn’t say much.
"OK we haven't confirmed that it's an exclusive yet, that's a question we cannot answer".
EuroGamer’s Robert Purchese continued by asking if it’s a timed exclusive and will it be coming to other platforms, the answer to both was “I cannot answer yet”.
The final question was about the $129 it would cost fans to play it on launch, the answer: "Maybe that would be a question for Google."
It’s not a great situation and we hope to receive some more information on it, but Raúl Rubio Munárriz did finish the conversation with reassuring words, “everyone will be able to play the game."
