THQ Nordic announced that SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated. a remake to the 2003 childhood classic of many, is being worked on.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom originally released way back in 2003 to mixed reviews, it was mostly considered an average game, but as time went on it gained a bit of a cult following. The aforementioned following began calling for a remake and their wish is being granted.
THQ Nordic announced that Purple Lamp Studios will be developing the remake for all current gen consoles. The fittingly named remake, Rehydrated, will feature a new multiplayer mode and cut content from the original, one them being a cut boss fight with Robo-Squidward. Besides the additional content, it will have more polished gameplay with brand new visuals and high-resolution support.
The exact release date is still unannounced, but it will be at some point in 2020, for now there a teaser trailer to get you interested.
