Sony’s Nintendo Direct-style stream, State of Play, has given us a look at some upcoming titles and some brand new announcements. In case you missed the stream I’ll be going over everything that was shown so let’s just jump right into it.
Marvel’s Iron Man VR
The stream kicked off with a trailer for a new Iron Man game. Marvel’s Iron Man VR is being developed by Camoflaj in conjunction with Marvel Game and SIE Worldwide Studios and is coming to PS4 this year. Nothing else was shared about the game, but we did get to see some gameplay footage in the trailer.
No Man’s Sky Beyond VR
Hello Games, the developer of No Man’s Sky will be adding PlayStation VR support to the PS4 version of the game. This won’t be an entirely separate mode, players will get to experience the whole game in VR. Also, the PS4 version of No Man’s Sky: Beyond will receive a physical release that will include the base game, VR support, and every single update through Beyond.
This is one of the new announcements I mentioned earlier. ReadySet Heroes is a fast-paced multiplayer dungeon crawler with a twist. The twist is that the whole time another team is going through the same dungeon as you and at the end you duke it out in a winner takes all battle. The full game will feature up to 4 players both online and local split-screen.
Blood & Truth
The upcoming PSVR exclusive, Blood & Truth, has received a story trailer. The trailer shows us some cool action sequences and story related stuff (duh, it’s a story trailer). The game also finally has a confirmed release date which is May 28th of this year.
Another game that received a story trailer is the upcoming Sci-Fi thriller, Observation. The trailer shows us Dr. Emma Fisher exploring the space station and trying to uncover what exactly happened to the crew. Players will be able to assume the role of the station AI called S.A.M. and assist Emma in uncovering the mystery on May 21st this year.
Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted
The other new announcement is the reveal of a new FNAF game. Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted is, as PlayStation put it “a collection of VR experiences based on the original Five Nights at Freddy’s games, but it includes several new experiences as well.” The trailer shows us some classic FNAF scenery but no release date. However, we do know that it’s coming this Spring.
The upcoming PS4-exclusive action adventure game, Concrete Genie, also received a story trailer. Sony also revealed that the game is arriving this fall.
The Freaker apocalypse (not zombie) is almost upon us, and we’ll get to explore the world of Days Gone on April 26th. And guess what, we got a story trailer for this one too.
Mortal Kombat 11
The stream closed with a new trailer for the largely anticipated Mortal Kombat 11 that confirmed the return of three more iconic characters: Jax, Kung Lao, and Lui Kang. The trailer also shows some modern day characters coming face to face with their younger selves.
