Rockstar Explains Why Grand Theft Auto 4 Is No Longer on Steam

Since recently, Grand Theft Auto 4 is not available for purchase on Steam. Now, Rockstar has revealed what is the reason for this.

The problem is connected to the Games for Windows Live platform. A Rockstar Games spokesperson told USgamer that because Microsoft isn’t supporting this platform anymore, they can't generate additional keys for GTA 4.

"Grand Theft Auto 4 was originally created for the Games For Windows Live platform. With Microsoft no longer supporting Games For Windows Live, it is no longer possible to generate the additional keys needed to continue selling the current version of the game,” it is said in the statement.

We are looking at other options for distributing GTA 4 for PC and will share more information as soon as we can."

So, we'll just have to wait for Rockstar to find a solution to this issue.
