Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends, has announced that it is closing League of Legends Boards next week.
“Starting March 9, 2020, we'll be closing down the League of Legends Boards. We know some of you use them regularly, so we didn’t arrive at this decision lightly,” reads the announcement.
“However, after looking at how many of you were using Boards, it became clear that the popularity of the platform had decreased significantly. Both players and Rioters have migrated to other community discussion platforms such as Reddit and Discord, leaving Boards underpopulated.”
On March 9, the boards will be made read only with threads and files still accessible so that the users can save whatever they want, and on March 16 the boards will go completely offline, and nothing will be accessible anymore.
