Russian developer Playrix announced a new studio in Serbia and with it a merger with a mobile game developer from Serbia, Eipix.
Eipix is happy with the merger, stating that joining the Playrix team opens the door towards a global market and fresh new ideas. When asked about the merger, Mirko Topalski, the CEO of Eipix, said the details aren’t public, but added:
“Playrix entered the Serbian market looking for a partner based on a number of criteria so that they would match the company's internal policies, and Eipix was the perfect match. They first contacted us in April, and since then we talked about the creation of a new studio in Serbia.”
Topalski also added that they will continue developing their own games, instead of just working on segments of games from their parent company.
Playrix was founded in 2004 and they worked on PC games up to 2011 when they made the switch to mobile games. Some of their biggest titles are Township, Fishdom, and Gardenscapes with a total of active monthly users surpassing 100 million.
