Phill Spencer, Head of Xbox, in an interview for Stevivor, said that VR is not going to be a focus for their next-gen console. He explained that customers just don’t associate Xbox with VR, and they don’t expect something like that from it.
He said that there are some things that are troubling him when it comes to VR.
“I have some issues with VR — it’s isolating and I think of games as a communal, kind of together experience. We’re responding to what our customers are asking for and… nobody’s asking for VR,” he explained.
“The vast majority of our customers know if they want a VR experience, there’s places to go get those. We see the volumes of those on PC and other places.”
Spencer added that they might eventually start considering VR but not for now.
Well, I guess Xbox fans won't be playing the new Half-Life.
