Apex Legends has been out for just under a month now and it’s already influencing the bigger names of the battle royale genre. Namely, Fortnite has a new feature that will look very familiar to Apex Legends players.
On February 4th the world was introduced to Apex Legends and it’s been praised by gamers from day one. One of the best things about Apex Legends is the fact that you don’t need a mic to coordinate with your squadmates. Thanks to the amazing ping system that Apex Legends has sharing crucial information is literally as easy as pressing a button.
Yesterday, the 8th season of Fortnite kicked off and there are some new additions. Yes, one of those additions is a ping system similar to the one we have in Apex Legends. This comes as no surprise since Epic Games has a history of jumping on bandwagons and copying trends.
The ping system is very similar to the one we have in Apex Legends. On consoles it’s left on the D-pad and on PC it’s the middle mouse button. The only difference between the two systems is that Apex Legends offers a much bigger selection of pings while the one in Fortnite has only the basic ones (enemy, location, and item pings).
