Epic Games has decided to postpone the launch of Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 2 well past the holidays this year, all the way to February 2020.
Epic confirmed on their official website that the new season to early February next year, making this the longest seasons of Fortnite yet.
“To prepare for all the new holiday-themed updates, we will be extending Chapter 2’s first season into early February. Get ready for winter.”
This means it’ll be a few more months until we see a big update for Fortnite, but a lot of events and activities were also announced, including free rewards and a live show.
Epic wrote, “Last year we celebrated 14 Days of Fortnite over the holidays. This year we’ve got even more content for you to unwrap, including new game features, free rewards and a live experience that you won’t want to miss.”
It might be that the launch of Chapter 2 did go as planned internally and that some changes had to be made pushing the Seasons update to February, but we would like to think it’s not that.
Epic is already known for giving developers a break around Christmas and New Year while the 14 days of events are happening, so this might just be the devs getting an extension for their well deserved rest.
