After many years, EA is finally coming back to Steam, but a lot of their older games are having their prices increased.
The price increase is regional, so US prices are the same, but UK prices for example have gone up. Sim City 4 nearly doubled in price at £17.99, Dead Space is also a few pounds more expensive now.
A common trend is to increase prices before a big sale, to make it seem like the sale is better than it really is.
The price changes are very inconsistent, games that are more expensive in one region might have stayed the same in a different one. Not even all of EA’s games have been affected, but most are more expensive now.
If you check those same games on Origin, most of them are half the price on Steam. So either they want to make sure the better deals are on Origin, or they are throwing darts at a board and messing with the prices at random. Who knows?
