Another heavy hitter in the indie game sphere is heading on over to the Nintendo Switch. This time around, it’s the brutally challenging run-and-gun platformer, Cuphead.
The game was first released back in 2017 as a Microsoft exclusive debuting on both of Microsoft platforms (XBOX ONE and PC). Now, the Switch is getting a port too, and Nintendo thanked “our friends at Microsoft” for making the whole thing happen. Cuphead’s 1930’s art style and gameplay seem like a perfect fit for the Switch and porting it to the platform is a no-brainer.
What’s even more interesting is that Microsoft said that XBOX Live support will be coming to the Switch version. The company stated: “We’ll be working with Studio MDHR to implement Xbox Live features into Cuphead on the Nintendo Switch in the coming months.” Cuphead for the Nintendo Switch will arrive on the 18th of April.
