Blizzard announced that Overwatch League matches are being canceled in China due to fears of the coronavirus.
The Overwatch League matches were supposed to be played in February and March, but “in order to protect the health and safety” of players, staff and fans they are being canceled. No new date has been set yet.
"We have decided to cancel our February and March matches in China in order to protect the health and safety of our players, fans, and staff," the post reads. "We hope fans have a safe and happy Lunar New Year, and we remain incredibly excited to play Overwatch League matches in China later this season.”
Areas in China are under quarantine and many more have travel restrictions due to the coronavirus. Blizzard isn’t the only one aware of the risk, the Chinese League of Legends Pro League also had matches canceled and Google is closing offices in China.
