Mike Verdu, Director of Content for Oculus, has shared this information in a blog post on Oculus’ official website.
“Today we’re announcing that Beat Games is joining us in our quest to bring VR to more people around the world. They will join Oculus Studios as an independently operated studio in Prague, continuing to create new ways for people to experience music and VR gaming,” he wrote.
He also revealed that Beat Games is going to continue releasing content and updates for Beat Saber on all currently supported platforms, and Facebook will support these efforts.
Moreover, Verdu stated that the Beat Games team will continue working in the same way they have till now, that they’ll keep their independence.
In addition, the news was also shared by Beat Games on Twitter.
They revealed their excitement about this but the reaction of their fans wasn’t that great; people are not happy that they’ve “sold out” to Facebook, as some of the comments say.
Only time will tell if this was the right move for Beat Games.
