After the tragic blaze at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, Ubisoft acted quite charitably. For the next week, until April 25, PC users can download Assassin’s Creed Unity for free and own it forever.
The move came with a statement that Ubisoft wishes for everyone to see the beautiful and awe-inspiring cathedral. Assassin’s Creed Unity, set in 18th century Paris, has one the most accurate recreation of the Notre Dame Cathedral.
It took 14 months to create, so it comes as no surprise that there are talks about using the in-game Notre Dame as a reference to rebuild the real Notre Dame.
Besides giving gamers a nice gift, Ubisoft has pledged €500,000 to help the reconstruction and restoration efforts.
