Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Out Now For PS4 and Xbox One

On August 27, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey hit the Epic Games Store and the PC players got to try it out first.

Now, Panache Digital Games has revealed that it’s time for the console players to experience the game too. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is available for Playstation 4 and Xbox One starting today, December 6.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is designed in a way that allows players to freely experiment and explore. They are not told what or how to do things; in Ancestors, players are the co-authors of their own story to evolution. Their survival as a lineage depends on the decisions they make, and the four core systems of the game - senses, intelligence, communication, and motricity - were built to support exploration so that they can develop their clan and species through generations.

It is said that over the past three months, the team has been working hard at improving the game for both PC and console and that they will keep listening to players’ feedback for more improvements.

Moreover, they have fixed some crashes and have made a few feature updates that are now live on all versions: PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Here is the overview of what's new:

Additional tutorials and objectives

For new players, the team wants to help them better understand how to play the game by adding new tutorial pop-ups and RPG, Generation, and Evolution menu information. To help them get started on their odyssey, new objectives have been added to help them experience the essentials of survival.

Improved item targeting

They've improved item targeting based on the gameplay context so that players can pick up the appropriate item for the situation they found themselves in.

Analyzing clan members from a distance

No need to walk all the way up to the clan members anymore to see how they are doing. Players will now be able to analyze them from afar and monitor their status on-the-go.

Additional mimic command

Players can now command their clan to apply items to themselves and do complex alterations using two items like hitting and grinding.

More frequent encounters with outsiders

The team has tweaked spawn rules so outsiders can be encountered more frequently.

Custom games

After evolving into a new species for the first time, players will now be able to start custom games based on a snapshot of their progress, including species, RPG progress and completed evolution missions.

Lineage stats and recap

Players can now consult a complete page of their lineage stats within the Pause menu.
