The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time first released in the fall of 1998, and celebrated its 20th anniversary in late 2018. And now the legendary single-player game now has a co-operative experience thanks to a group of modders.
The fifth entry in Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series was a huge milestone for the franchise thanks to its revolutionary at the time 3D graphics, and great and memorable storytelling. To this day, it is considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time. It received a remake back in 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS, but this mod is just something else.
A group of dedicated modders have managed to transform Ocarina of Time into a multiplayer experience, and you can now experience the game with a friend. The project first started back in 2018 and now you can see the fruit of the group’s labor in the video below.
By running the game on a dedicated server, players can now team up in ways they never could back in the 90s. Right now players can only face off against AI enemies, but the people behind the mod are already looking for a way to add PvP combat in the future.
The project is in early development and is far from over, but it’s looking very promising. If this piques your interest and you want to know more then check out the devs Twitch channel for updates.
